I prefer it all black and sooty...I actually don’t like it when they are super clean and shiny. Is that weird?

Is that weird?
Yep.

Yes, that is weird.
Strange choice in fetishes.........

I mean, it does show that the car is being driven...

My mom’s Mk1 focus is unable to dirty the inside of the tailpipe, it’s just dry and clean, safe for the usual surface grit that ends up around there. Not black or anything.

Dat carbon fibre body panel tho. :)

Man my exhaust runs so rich it gets black in like 15 mins

I would agreee though I would like the outside shiny but seeing way into the tip being all shiny is wierd. especially on a car like this and you can see it chokes down to tiny pipes

YES IT IS!!
The smiley face was supposed to convey the sarcasm.

You know what else she likes dirty.... Oh. Wait. Cars. Right. Yeah. Little weird but not crazy weird.

I’m kinda glad mine just drools the oil instead of burning it. Now if it could be somewhere else but the seal behind the flywheel so it was easily fixable...

No. I love dirty vehicles.

You'd hate my exhaust then. It never gets dirty other than debris from the road, even the inside is still bright stainless.

Is that what this means? Black on the inside of my tailpipe = running rich? I recently installed a full exhaust (down pipe w/2 new O2 sensors-highflow cat-resonated pipe-highflow muffler) on my Miata and a week later the brand new tip is decently black on the inside. I was thinking it was part of the breaking in process.

Love it.
It took 1500 miles but my WRX has finally gotten a nice color and sooty-ness to its pipes.

I agree completely. As much as I do a high RPM downshifts and it spits fire, it not worth my time to clean it. The outside sparkles, but the inside is all soot.

I like... not cleaning my dirty exhaust.
But yeah, something about visual proof of hydrocarbons being burned. I bought mine more for the “sport” than the “luxury", after all.
